About Wendy J Levy Contemporary Art
In the early 1970s Wendy went to work at the Pitcairn Galleries in Knutsford. It comprised a large and very attractive exhibition space on two floors with a separate sculpture gallery. The Pitcairn Galleries became recognised as one of the finest private galleries in the North West, hosting exhibitions from all over the country.
Wendy eventually took over as proprietor of Pitcairn Galleries in the early 1980s and continued to run it very successfully until she decided to relinquish the gallery premises in order to work from home whilst bringing up her two young children. In the summer of 2000 Wendy opened her current art gallery in Didsbury, Manchester.
This small, but perfectly formed, gallery hosts a different exhibition every month showing work by nationally known, as well as internationally known, artists. Over the years, Wendy Levy has nurtured and supported many promising new artists, a good number of whom have now achieved well-deserved recognition.
